What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is an active, collaborative process to redefine your physical potential, not just treat injuries.

It blends expert hands-on treatment with strength, conditioning, lifestyle support, and ongoing coaching.

The aim is to build a stronger, more resilient and confident you, providing the knowledge and tools to manage your health long-term.

At EK Movement, I’m proud to serve the community in Chichester

Redefining what Physiotherapy is

I challenge the traditional view of physiotherapy as merely a fix for injuries.

A New Approach to Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the foundation of a healthy, balanced life, going beyond temporary pain relief to address overall wellness. My proactive approach challenges the traditional view of physiotherapy as merely a fix for injuries.

Lifelong Resilience

What should I expect?

I follow a clear, four-step journey to take you from pain and uncertainty to confidence and prevention.

My goal isn’t just to get you pain-free. It’s to build a stronger, more resilient, and more confident version of you, giving you the knowledge and tools to manage your health for the long term.

This is physiotherapy and coaching combined.

Uses of Physiotherapy

1. Expert Assessment

At the initial appointment, I conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your pain, its impact, and your goals. This involves a movement analysis and expert diagnosis.

2. Personalised Treatment Plan

I will design and implement a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plan focusing on manual therapy and targeted exercises to relieve your symptoms and address the root cause.

3. Guided Recovery

I guide you through your recovery. Your treatment plan will adapt as you progress, helping restore movement, build strength, and return to what you love.

4. Long-Term Prevention

When appropriate, I assess potential risks of your injury recurring. I provide you knowledge, exercises, and strategies to self-manage your condition and prevent future issues.

Physiotherapy FAQs

Answers to Your Questions

If you have any additional questions or concerns not addressed in my FAQs, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Your first 45-minute assessment is a deep dive into your condition. I’ll discuss your symptoms and goals, conduct a thorough movement analysis to diagnose the root cause, provide hands-on treatment for immediate relief, and create a clear follow-up plan that you can access from home.
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. It’s important for me to be able to see and assess the problem area, so shorts are great for knee or hip pain, and a vest top is ideal for shoulder or neck pain.
This is unique to each person and depends on your condition, your goals, and how long you’ve had the issue. After your initial assessment, I’ll be able to give you a much clearer idea of your recovery timeframe. There is no magical fix, but I’ll be with you every step of the way.
Not at all! Physiotherapy is also about performance and prevention. We can help you enhance your sports performance, prepare for an event, or identify and correct movement imbalances *before* they become a problem. Think of it as a “Body MOT” to keep you running smoothly.
Absolutely. As I also offer personal training, I am an expert at integrating your rehabilitation directly into your wider fitness goals. I can work with you to modify your existing plan or design a new one that helps you recover and get stronger simultaneously.
